Scooter Rider Rear-Ended and Killed in Highway 126 Accident
On the morning of August 24, a scooter rider was rear-ended and killed in a Highway 126 accident, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The fatal crash occurred about 5:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes on Highway 126 just east of the Los Angeles/Ventura County line.
Yolanda Hernandez, of Santa Paula, was driving east behind the scooter when he reportedly “failed to notice” the scooter and rear-ended it.
The scooter rider was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. More details about the victim are pending notification of next of kin.
“At this time, the investigation is still ongoing,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm. “We express our condolences to the victim’s loved ones.”
