scotts valley man dies after highway 17 motorcycle crash
On the morning of July 22, 69-year-old Cornelius Talbert of Scotts Valley was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 17 in Lexington Hills, according to officials.

Talbert was traveling southbound on a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when a gray Honda Accord driven by a 53-year-old Soquel man changed lanes and struck the left side of the motorcycle, causing him to lose control, overturn, and crash.

Upon impact, Talbert was ejected from the motorcycle down an embankment of dirt and rock. He was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with major injuries. He was declared dead about an hour later.

“At this time, investigators are determining the cause of this tragic motorcycle crash,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm. “Our thoughts are with Talbert’s friends and family.”
