service member killed in escondido motorcycle crash
On the morning of August 15, an active duty military member was killed in an Escondido motorcycle accident, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The fatal crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. on southbound Interstate 15 near State Route 78. Ryan Meyers, 31, of Temecula, was splitting lanes in traffic when a car changing lanes clipped his bike, causing him to lose control and crash into a concrete barrier. He was thrown over the side of the freeway overpass and onto North Washington Avenue roughly 36 feet below.

Meyers was taken to a hospital with serious head injuries. He was later pronounced dead.

“At this time, an investigation is underway,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm. “Our thoughts are with Meyers’ loved ones.”
