Uber Driver Stabbed In Bellflower
An Uber driver was attacked while trying to pick up passengers in Bellflower. Moe Elhilu was stabbed outside Flux Bar at 17817 Lakewood Boulevard shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Eric Lindblom said.
The driver got out of the car to open the door for his passengers, two males and two females, when some guys approached and asked for money.
When Elhilu tried to get back in the vehicle, one of the men stabbed him and a Good Samaritan, Lindblom added.
Flux bar wrote on its Facebook page: “It grieves us that people now a days are so violent. These individuals were NEVER in Flux. The only involvement our customers had in the incident was attempting to stop a fight that spilled into our lot.”
“These are unpredictable. I didn’t want to get killed. That’s why I didn’t want to go forward. I don’t want no problem. I want to protect the passengers in my car and leave,” Elhilu said.
Elhilu cannot drive for several weeks, but as soon as the time is up, he will be back driving for Uber. He said he needs the money.
He believes the attackers got away in a gray older model SUV.
