Woman Arrested in Connection with Dublin Hit-and-Run Crash
Police said a woman turned herself in for a Dublin hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a teenager last week. Twenty-six-year-old Nicole Wieland was taken into custody on felony hit-and-run and stolen vehicle charges and booked at Santa Rita Jail.
The accident was reported in the area of Vomac Road and Shannon Avenue around 8:50 p.m. on June 29. A hit-and-run driver struck a pole which hit and injured a 17-year-old boy. The driver allegedly fled the scene, but the involved vehicle was recovered and impounded as evidence the next day.
The victim was treated at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and released. He is currently at home recovering from his injuries.
“We hope that the boy and his family get justice from Wieland, whose disregard for human life contributed to a lot of unnecessary pain,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm.
