Wilshire Law Firm » USC Victims Case – Class Action

USC Dr. Tyndall Case

Trust is the cornerstone of any patient-doctor relationship. When a medical professional breaches that trust, the consequences can be devastating. The recent revelations of gross misconduct on the part of USC gynecologist Dr. George Tyndall include allegations of repeated harassment and sexual abuse against dozens, if not hundreds of female USC students and employees. When victims attempted to report Dr. George Tyndall’s behavior to USC supervisors, nothing was done, enabling this systemic abuse to continue for years.

What does this lawsuit contend?

That USC Student Health Center gynecologist Dr. George Tyndall sexually abused, molested and harassed multiple female students and USC employees under the guise of conducting pelvic exams on them. In addition, even after several women came forward to lodge formal complaints against Dr. Tyndall, USC supervisors did not act, despite years of evidence.

What outcome can I expect?

Since Dr. George Tyndall began working at USC in 1989, the number of female patients he examined is probably in the thousands. USC began receiving complaints about his behavior as early as the early 1990s but did nothing and even hid those complaints. USC did not act until 2016, and even then, they allowed Dr. George Tyndall to retire with a severance package. In addition, police were not notified, nor was he reported to the Medical Board of California. Given the enormity of the abuse and cover-up, as well as the unconscionable physical and emotional pain suffered by Dr. George Tyndall’s victims, the potential for real change as well as justice for his victims is very high.
