Catharine McGlynn, Esq.

Associate Attorney

Catharine “Kate” McGlynn, an Associate Attorney, has focused her practice almost exclusively on Single-Plaintiff Employment Law with an emphasis on Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation. Catharine’s educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Pre-Law from Arcadia University. She went on to obtain her Juris Doctor from the University of Massachusetts School of Law where she excelled academically and served as Notes Editor for the UMass Law Review, was recognized with the Oral Advocacy Award, and was selected as a recipient for the National Association of Women Lawyers’ Outstanding Law Student Award.

Her commitment to professional growth is evident through her memberships in various legal organizations, including serving as Member-at-Large for the San Diego Bar Association’s New Lawyers’ Division and affiliations with the Louis M. Welsh Inn of Court, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, and Consumer Attorneys of California. Catharine has worked to secure significant settlements on behalf of aggrieved employees, including a $1.25 million settlement, an $800,000 settlement, and a $775,000 settlement, demonstrating her skillful approach to legal representation.

Catharine’s professional philosophy centers on adaptability, considering each client, case, and situation unique. She prides herself on tailoring her approach to meeting the distinct needs of her clients. Inspired by a deeply ingrained sense of fairness and equity, Catharine sees her role in employment law as being a voice for employees who have suffered illegal forms of unfair treatment. Catharine has adopted the approach of her personal hero, the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg:

“Fight for the things that you care about but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.”

Outside the legal realm, Catharine enjoys spending time with her rescue dog, Fidget. Her devotion to the best interests of her community and empowering individuals who have been silenced, is part of who she is. Consistency, hard work, and determination continue to drive Catharine at Wilshire Law Firm.
