Paul earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from California Western School of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science from California State University, Northridge. Paul is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice in various federal courts, including the Central, Northern, and Southern California Districts of the U.S. District Courts, as well as the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal.
