LOS ANGELES, CA. Nov. 19, 2018 – Wilshire Law Firm is strengthening its commitment to helping the next generation of attorneys succeed by expanding its biannual academic scholarship program from two awards to four for the 2019-2020 academic year. Going forward, four worthy students will each receive $1,000 towards their college educations, up from two students in previous years.

Founding President and Managing Attorney Bobby Saadian started this scholarship program to give students the financial support they need to pursue the noble goal of earning a law degree. “As a first-generation college student, I believe that higher education should be a right and not a privilege,” Saadian said. “Becoming a lawyer is a significant financial investment, and students who are dedicated to their academic pursuits and community should not be held back by economic considerations.”

The candidates eligible for the awards are:

  • The Student Scholar Awards – Current undergraduate students and/or high school seniors interested in studying law.
  • The Legal Scholar Awards – Students currently enrolled in law school or undergraduate seniors who would like to pursue a career in law.

The selected students will be recognized not just for their academic achievements but for their contributions to their communities as well. To apply, students must submit an essay explaining which field of law interests them and why, and how they plan to use their law degree to help others upon graduation. Students must also provide an unofficial copy of their college transcripts for consideration.

Submissions for the Fall 2019 Student and Legal Scholar awards are due by June 28, 2019. The deadline for the Spring 2020 awards will be announced sometime next year.
