Car Accidents in California
Car accidents occur daily in the state of California. Many of the accidents that we see are completely preventable. Reckless and negligent drivers continue to be a leading culprit when it comes to vehicle collisions that take place across our state. Some of the leading causes of car crashes in California include:
- Drivers who are distracted: there are many instances where people become distracted while behind the wheel. When people are not paying attention to the road ahead, they may not see other people or vehicles nearby. As a result, they are likely to strike them. Some of the common causes identified in motor vehicle accidents across our state include cell phones, food, passengers, and even radios.
- Drivers who switch lanes recklessly: it is crucial that drivers look for other vehicles before switching lanes. However, there are many instances where drivers fail to do so. When drivers recklessly split between lanes without checking for other vehicles, they place the lives of everyone else at risk. Unfortunately, we see many accidents take place as a result of drivers who weave between traffic here in the Los Angeles area.
- Drivers who tailgate/follow too closely: driving too closely to the vehicle ahead of you can prevent you from being able to stop in time to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, we see a significant number of accidents take place as a result of drivers who are following too closely or tailgating other vehicles.
These and other acts of negligence continue to cause harm to innocent motorists in the Los Angeles area every single day. It is crucial that accident victims are aware of the legal options that they have available to them moving forward.
