San Marcos, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Garbage Truck on S Las Posas Rd

San Marcos, CA (March 11, 2023) – A pedestrian has lost their life following a car crash involving a garbage truck that took place on Friday morning in San Diego County.

The accident was reported at approximately 11:58 a.m. on March 10.

Reports from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department show that a garbage truck was backing into a scale at the EDCO Recycling Buyback Center in the 200 block of South Las Posas Road when they struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was fatally injured due to the crash. Authorities arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The driver of the truck, who did not suffer any injuries in the crash, remained at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the accident.
