Highlands Oncology Group (“Highlands”), a prominent healthcare provider based in Arkansas, has announced a significant data breach that may have compromised the personal information of over 113,000 individuals.
What Happened
On June 2, 2025, Highlands discovered they were the victim of a cyber-attack and certain files and systems were inaccessible. Upon discovering the incident, they promptly began an internal investigation, worked to secure their systems, and notified law enforcement. They also engaged a forensic security firm to assist with their investigation and ensure the security of their computer network.
The forensic investigation determined that an unauthorized third party accessed Highland’s computer network at times between January 21, 2025, and June 2, 2025, and encrypted some of their files. The investigation also determined that the third party may have accessed and acquired certain files from their systems during this period.

Highlands confirmed that the information accessed included names and other personal identifiers in combination with data that may be used for identity theft. To mitigate the impact of the breach, Highlands is offering 12 months of free identity theft protection services through Experian IdentityWorks Credit 3B.
