On the early morning of September 26, two people were killed by a wrong-way driver on a busy Fair Oaks road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The fatal motorcycle accident occurred about 3 a.m. on Madison Avenue near Lincoln Oaks Drive. Brandon Fernandez, 28, was driving the wrong way in a silver Hyundai when he crashed into a motorcycle that was being ridden by a man and woman in their 20s.
Both vehicles caught fire. The pair on the motorcycle died at the scene.
Fernandez was arrested on felony charges of DUI and manslaughter.
“At this time, an investigation is ongoing,” said a representative of Wilshire Law Firm. “Our thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones.”
