On the night of June 19, a horrific car crash occurred near Lancaster, resulting in the deaths of two women and a little girl.
Authorities said that a 2016 Ford Escape carrying the victims was traveling westbound on Avenue D near the southbound 14 Freeway onramp when the vehicle turned left into the path of a white 2013 Honda Accord heading eastbound. This happened around 9:18 pm.
Two female passengers in the Escape, 36 and 37, died at the scene. A toddler in the car also sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Both the Escape and Honda driver – 37-year-old Eric D. Johnson and 61-year-old Cheryl A. Harris, respectively – were hospitalized with major injuries.
Johnson was arrested for reasons yet unknown. The investigation is still ongoing.
