Young Consulting, LLC, a commercial consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, has confirmed a major data breach that compromised the personal information of over 1 million individuals.

What Happened?

The breach was caused by an external cyberattack and is one of the more significant incidents in recent history.

On or about August 26, 2024, Young Consulting began providing written notice of this event to certain individuals identified through its investigation with personal information involved in this event.

Thereafter, Young Consulting completed a comprehensive data mining review of the involved information and continued to work with Data Owners to determine additional address information for individuals impacted by the event. On January 28, 2025, based on that information, Young Consulting mailed additional notifications to individuals with whom personal information was involved in this event.

This external system breach was the result of unauthorized access – believed to be hacking – that exposed sensitive personal data. The personal information that could have been subject to unauthorized access includes:
