Whittier, CA (February 9, 2023) – A fatal car accident took the life of one person in Whittier on Thursday morning, February 9. The California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of an automobile accident at around 9:40 a.m. on Florence Avenue.
Reports provided by the California Highway Patrol show that a crash between two vehicles occurred on Florence Avenue in the area near Carmenita Road. Both vehicles came to rest, blocking the roadway.
The Whittier Police Department also responded to provide assistance with securing the roadway.
One person suffered severe injuries in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for emergency care.
A second victim was fatally injured in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
