Santa Ana, CA (February 22, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident took place in the Santa Ana area on Tuesday afternoon that left at least one person with injuries. Calls for help were received at approximately 3:40 p.m. on February 21 regarding an automobile collision on Interstate 405.
California Highway Patrol reports indicate that a collision blocked the southbound side of the interstate during the afternoon hours. A white Toyota Corolla involved in the accident suffered moderate rear-end damage. The vehicles came to rest, blocking the roadway near the off-ramp for Sand Canyon Drive.
Emergency crews immediately secured the roadway to prevent further damage to the vehicles or injuries to those involved.
An ambulance was requested at the scene to provide transportation for the victims who suffered injuries in the crash to local hospitals.
The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash.
