Barstow, CA – One Fatally Injured in Truck Crash on Highway 58 near Helendale Rd

Barstow, CA (February 27, 2023) – Emergency officials across San Bernardino County responded to the scene of an accident in Barstow that claimed one person’s life early Saturday morning, February 25.

Just after 2:00 a.m., the California Highway Patrol was notified that an accident occurred on Highway 58 that required emergency medical attention.

Preliminary reports provided by CHP indicate that a semi-truck and a silver sedan collided on the highway in the area near Helendale Road. The incident prompted officials to close off the roadway just east of Kramer Junction.

The sedan became stuck under the big rig’s trailer, leaving the vehicle with moderate damage.

One person involved in the accident was fatally injured. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities have not publicly identified the deceased party at this time.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently being investigated.
