Brentwood, CA (February 28, 2023) – A fatal truck accident took place on Monday morning in Brentwood that claimed one person’s life. Calls for help came into the California Highway Patrol regarding the accident at approximately 419 a.m. on February 27.
According to reports provided by CHP, a head-on collision occurred on Vasco Road in the area near Camino Diablo. The incident involved a car and a big rig.
Firefighters rushed to the scene of the accident and immediately closed off both of the southbound lanes of Vasco Road.
Multiple victims had to be extricated from the wreckage. At least one person was fatally injured in the accident. The Contra Costa County Sheriff-Coroner was called to pronounce the victim at the scene.
An unknown number of people suffered injuries and were transported to local hospitals.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently being investigated.
