Stanislaus County, CA (March 2, 2023) – Authorities confirmed that 21-year-old Gurjot Kaur of Stockton, California, and 51-year-old Rudy Mercado have died as a result of a car crash that occurred in Stanislaus County on Monday morning, February 27.
At approximately 6:40 a.m., authorities were called to a crash that took place on Highway 4.
Reports provided by California Highway Patrol show that Kaur was driving a Honda sedan east on the highway when her vehicle collided head-on with a Toyota pickup truck.
Kaur and the driver of the pickup truck, 51-year-old Rudy Mercado, were both severely injured in the crash.
Authorities arrived at the scene to render aid to the victims. However, both drivers died at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating at this time.
