Bakersfield, CA (March 10, 2023) – Authorities in Bakersfield confirmed that 73-year-old Maria Guadalupe Arce has died as a result of a motor vehicle accident that took place in the Bakersfield area on Wednesday afternoon.
At about 3:45 p.m. on March 1, California Highway Patrol troopers out of Bakersfield were dispatched to provide assistance at the scene of an accident on Highway 65.
Reports show that two vehicles collided on the highway near Meadows Field Airport. The incident prompted officials to shut down a portion of the road as they worked to clear the scene.
Arce suffered severe injuries due to the crash. She was rushed to Kern Medical Center, where she later passed away from her injuries.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Investigations surrounding the accident are currently underway.
