Sacramento, CA (March 10, 2023) – A fatal accident took place on the south side of Sacramento on Thursday afternoon. Calls for help came in just before 2:00 p.m. on March 9.
According to officials, a gray Nissan Altima and a white truck collided on California State Route 160. Authorities confirmed that four additional vehicles were involved in the accident. California Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene of the accident and closed off a portion of the roadway near West Brennan Island Road.
The incident caused severe disruptions in the area, prompting the Solano fire department to respond to the scene of the accident to provide assistance.
Authorities went to work quickly on the removal of damaged vehicles and debris from the road.
The county coroner was requested at the scene of the accident. At least one person was pronounced deceased on-site due to the injuries that they had suffered.
The number of injured parties is not known at this time.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
