The number of fatalities reported increased by nearly 26 percent between 2014 and 2018. Between 2009 and 2018, the number of pedestrians who lost their life grew to around 7500 people. Despite how many laws are state has in place to protect pedestrian traffic, we continue to see innocent victims needlessly hurt as a result of driver negligence.

Pedestrians who are involved in motor vehicle accidents are more likely to suffer severe injuries. Unlike other motorists, pedestrians have no protection during accidents. They are entirely exposed to the force of the impact of motor vehicles. Unfortunately, we see countless victims left with severe trauma to the head, spinal cord injuries, and other severe injuries that demand immediate and long-term care.

The aftermath of a pedestrian accident can be incredibly challenging to endure. Victims often struggle with the consequences that they are forced to deal with. Not only do victims struggle to get the medical care that they need for their injuries, but they are often without the financial resources that they need to cover these costs and more. For this reason, pedestrians who are injured in motor vehicle accidents are strongly encouraged to take legal action. Filing a personal injury claim against the person who is responsible for the crash can provide victims with the needed financial relief for medical care costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
