Michael C. Forrest, Esq.
Senior Attorney

Michael C. Forrest, Esq. is a Senior Attorney with more than fifteen years of experience in consumer protection and complex litigation, representing both individual consumers and nationwide classes. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, California, and New Hampshire.
Michael's view of the law is a practical one: it should function as a working tool for protecting people from unfair, deceptive, and unlawful conduct. That belief has shaped the whole of his career. "My practice is driven by the belief that the legal system should provide ordinary people with a fair opportunity to challenge unfair conduct and obtain justice," he says. In every matter, he pairs rigorous advocacy with a broader aim — securing meaningful results for his clients while also promoting accountability, transparency, and fairness, and expanding access to justice along the way.
Among the work he is proudest of is his involvement in the Shields Health Care Group Data Breach Litigation, which produced a proposed $15.35 million class action settlement on behalf of individuals caught up in a breach affecting more than 2.3 million people. Just as significantly, the resolution required the company to make substantive improvements to its cybersecurity practices. Michael also served as Co-Lead Counsel in O'Hara v. Diageo-Guinness USA, Inc., a case that helped advance important consumer-protection principles in advertising and corporate accountability.
He did not start out on this path. Michael initially set out to become a prosecutor, drawn to the idea of using the law to protect people and serve the public interest. Over time he came to see that consumer advocacy offered a different but equally meaningful route to those same ends.
Michael is a member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, the Consumer Attorneys of California, and the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys.
Away from his practice, Michael spends his time with family, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors.
