Mike Wellen, Esq.
Partner

Mike Wellen, Esq. is a Partner and trial attorney with more than 20 years of experience in personal injury, premises liability, and general civil liability litigation. He has successfully taken personal injury cases to trial, and he brings a trial lawyer’s preparation to every case he handles.
Mike’s experience covers a wide range of litigation, including personal injury, premises liability, and general civil liability matters. He has extensive experience handling special investigative unit cases and has also worked on employment law matters and public entity defense, including matters involving numerous school districts and public transportation entities. Having spent years litigating these claims from the defense side, he understands how the opposing party evaluates a case and prepares to defend it — knowledge he now puts to work for his clients at Wilshire Law Firm.
Clients and juries respond to Mike because he relates to them, and he uses that connection to build strategies designed to win at trial. He does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. “Each case has a separate path to success,” he says, and he develops each one around the facts and the client in front of him. His guiding principle is simple: always be prepared so that you can adapt to any scenario.
Mike earned his B.A. in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his J.D. from Southwestern Law School, where he served on Law Review. He became a lawyer because he wanted to be able to stand up for what is right.
Outside the office, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
