Jesús Torres, Esq.

Senior Trial Attorney

Jesús Torres, Esq. is a Senior Trial Attorney at the Wilshire Law Firm with over two decades of experience specializing in products liability, toxic torts, mass torts, catastrophic personal injury, and wrongful death cases. Jesús has a diverse legal background and has been involved in numerous high-profile cases. He uses his extensive legal background to zealously fight for his clients’ rights.

Prior to joining the Wilshire Law firm Jesús worked for two international AmLaw 100 law firms, Alston & Bird LLP and Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP. During his tenure, he defended individuals, Fortune 500 companies, and their insurance companies in high stakes litigation. Through his work, Jesús gained invaluable insight into how corporations and insurance companies handle claims from the inside. Jesus was also a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel which is an invite only legal organization. This honor is only given to 2,500 corporate and insurance defense executives worldwide.

Feeling a calling to help people who had been injured due to the negligence of others, Jesús changed his focus in law and now deals exclusively with plaintiff’s personal injury cases. Having spent so many years on the defense side, Jesús leverages his unique perspective and knowledge to help his clients obtain the financial compensation that they deserve.

Jesús is known for thinking “outside of the box” when it comes to legal strategies; he constantly advocates on behalf of his clients to attain the best possible results. If a case goes to trial, he is an aggressive and passionate advocate on behalf of clients at the Wilshire Law Firm. In addition to his legal work, Jesús is committed to pro bono service. Jesús prides himself the most on how he can make meaningful impacts and change the trajectory of people’s lives by representing asylum seekers from many countries, including Ukraine and Afghanistan, and children who were separated from their families at the U.S.-Mexico border in immigration cases. Jesús also represents immigrants in plaintiff-side false imprisonment or overdetention cases.

“Service to others is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth.”

Jesús earned his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and is an esteemed member of multiple legal organizations: the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (ABTL). Recently, he was named by the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Minority Attorneys of influence list.

Outside of his philanthropic work and the law, Jesús is a car enthusiast and sports fanatic, especially proud of his allegiance to his beloved Chicago Bears. He also volunteers his time as an executive board member of the non-profit Adventist Health Simi Valley Hospital Foundation to help provide quality health care to his community.
